Mysterious Death: Natalie Jones

The case I am bringing to you today has very little information and A LOT of conflicting reports. There is not much to dive into for research, however, this case is puzzling. Grab a cup of hot coffee with Cinnamon Dulce Starbucks creamer and read as I tell you the story of Natalie Jones.

Natalie was a beautiful, young mother of two boys. Only 27 years old, Natalie's life was taken too soon and there are many more questions than answers.

Natalie left Corinth, GA to go to a 4th of July party in Lake Martin in Alabama. As she was leaving the party, Natalie told her friend she would text her when she got home to let her know she was ok. Mysteriously, said friend received the text, but the question is, did Natalie herself send it? If not, who did? She left the party around 10:52 and sent the text around 12:52 am that said " I made it. Thanks!" After that, she disappeared. Natalie's mom did an interview on the Instagram page (#justicefornataliejones) and YouTube talking about what happened when her daughter disappeared. According to Natalie's mom, she was devoted to her two boys (11 and 8 at the time) and would have never left them or abandoned them. After watching the interview, it seems that there is quite a bit of family drama that goes from Natlie's mom and Natalie's half sibling, Jessica. They both blame one another.

Natalie's phone last pinged at 5:15 am on July 5th in heard County Ga. This is significant because this is on the other side of the county from where her home was located. I have to mention that Natalie was diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and Schizophrenia and was currently not taking her medications according to the Heard County Sheriff's Office. Once Natalie's family realized she had not come home, they immediately went to the police and tried to file a missing person's case. And sadly, they were denied that because she had to be missing 48 hours first. This should never in my opinion, be a rule. The first 48 hours in any investigation is CRUCIAL. Also, the police did not take Natalie's mother seriously, and to be honest, after reading and watching everything I could get my hands on, the police did a piss poor job of investigating this case and I have a feeling there is some corruption going on within that department.

When the family was turned away, they began to make flyers, send out search parties, and contact anyone that might have talked to or seen Natalie. One of the biggest things they were searching for was Natalie's car. It was a HOT PINK Chevy Cavalier. It was a very hard car to miss or misplace. Natalie's family and eventually the police search for 3 months until Natalie and her hot pink car were found.

The car was found on October 6th of 2020 by a man doing bush hog work off Welcome Road in Heard County. The vehicle had been driven off the road, so no accident had occurred, and according to authorities, the car had to have been there for the entire time Natalie was missing due to the growth and vegetation around it. Natalie's mom and family disagrees as they saw a picture after the car was towed and it looked like it was in pristine condition, not like it had been sitting for months (I saw this picture and I agree with the family). Unfortunately, Natalie's body was found inside.

The most mysterious part of this whole case is that Natalie's autopsy was inconclusive. No trauma, no drugs found in her system. Nothing. The medical examiner's office literally has no idea what happened to her.

Law enforcement also reported recovering several items that they did not identify. Law enforcement said that a cell phone was in the car, but they did not say whether it belonged to Jones. There is literally no other information on this case. Because the case has not been solved and is an open investigation, the autopsy report hasn't been made public. Natalie did have a tumultuous relationship with her ex-boyfriend who was jailed at the time of her disappearance and Natalie as involved in a very heated custody battle over her boys. According to her mother, she had been receiving threats in the days and weeks before she disappeared. I hope that this case doesn't become a 15-year-old cold case. Natalie and her family deserve justice.
